Mike opened his firm in July 2024 when he saw an expanding need for legal services for families and businesses. Prior to joining the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA) in January 2012 as Benefits Counsel, he practiced in the areas of estate planning and administration for 25 years, advising clients on wills, trusts, guardianships and conservatorships, and probate issues. As the number of people entering retirement is growing and more young families are starting in Colorado, Mike is ready to incorporate sound estate planning as part of people’s financial planning for the future. Mike advises businesses on entity formation, succession planning and tax issues. At FPPA he advised the association’s benefits department on estate administration and retirement issues, and tax issues. He has represented clients in court and at administrative hearings. Mike served as a hearing officer for FPPA and the Denver Employees’ Retirement Plan during his previous years in private practice. His legal experience includes workers’ compensation and commercial litigation. Mike serves as a City Council Member in Centennial, Colorado, and as a Board Member and Chair of the Legislative Action Committee for the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.
Mike graduated with Honors from the University of Denver with a B.S.B.A. in Management, and he earned his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law. He is licensed to practice before the Colorado state and federal courts and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
